FSU players, coaches receive championship rings
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State won the national championship three months ago, but the players were celebrating again on Tuesday afternoon when they received three rings.
Florida State's Atlantic Coast Conference rings, Bowl Championship Series title rings and national championship rings were delivered and presented to the team.
''I want you to think about the teamwork you had, the camaraderie you had, the family atmosphere you had and the sacrifices you made to get it,'' Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said. ''You put that on, you become a member of a fraternity that is very few.''
The national championship ring was designed by Fisher, senior associate athletics director Monk Bonasorte and director of football operations Mark Robinson.
Players had seen photos of what they would be receiving. But to see them -- and wear them -- was a special moment.
''They're way better than what the pictures say,'' defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. ''That looks good.''
