FSU adds Savannah St to 2012 schedule

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida State has finally found a 12th
game to replace West Virginia on its 2012 football schedule.

Athletic Director Randy Spetman said
Wednesday that Savannah State from the Football Championship Subdivision
would visit Tallahassee on Sept. 8 as a replacement opponent for the
Mountaineers, who broke a home-and-home contract with the Seminoles to
ostensibly accommodate its move from the Big East Conference to the Big
12.

Savannah State finished 1-10 last season
and was outscored by an average of nearly 31 points in its losses. The
Seminoles now have two smaller-division FCS schools on their schedule;
they host Murray State on Sept. 1.

Florida State plans to sue West Virginia
for the amounts specified in the contract plus unspecified damages that
could run into at least a couple million dollars.
