FSO announces Cavs schedule & coverage including replays of parade & rally celebration
CLEVELAND, OH – As the official TV home of the World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, FOX Sports Ohio is pleased to announce it will carry the maximum number (70) of Cavs games eligible for local broadcast during the 2016-17 regular season, presented by AT&T. The remaining 12 regular season games will be broadcast exclusively by NBA national game broadcast partners.
FOX Sports Ohio is also pleased to announce this year’s “Tip-tober” coverage of Cavaliers preseason basketball, presented by Wayside Furniture, which includes five Cavs preseason games, replays of the Cavs Championship Celebration, and a show highlighting the Cavs regular season top plays. Your “Home Team Starting Five” will be back this season featuring broadcasters Austin Carr, Fred McLeod, Allie Clifton, Campy Russell, and Jeff Phelps. New this season, Mike Fratello will join the broadcast team on select games. Fratello appeared as a guest on several of FOX Sports Ohio’s pre- and postgame shows around the playoffs last season.
For the preseason game telecasts, Carr and McLeod will call the action with Clifton reporting sideline. The first preseason game is Wednesday, Oct. 5 when the Cavs will host the Orlando Magic at 7:00pm at Quicken Loans Arena.
FOX Sports Ohio will air replays of the Cavs Championship Celebration from June 22, 2016, featuring the parade and rally. Tune in Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 9:30pm (following the preseason game) to relive that day.
The network has also compiled the top plays of the Cavs regular season in a 30-minute show, debuting Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7:00pm before the Cavs preseason game.
FOX Sports Ohio’s coverage of the Cavs’ regular season begins Friday, Oct. 28 when the team travels to Toronto to face the Raptors at 7:00pm.
Throughout the regular season, Cavaliers Live (#CavsLive) pre-game show, presented by Toyota, will return with commentary, features, and in-depth coverage of the Cavs 30 minutes prior to every game telecast. Russell and Phelps will host with Fratello serving as a guest host on select games.
The Halftime Report, presented by Northeast Ohio Area Mazda Dealers, will break down the first half of the game and offer insights in preparation for the second half. Immediately following the final buzzer of each game, the postgame edition of Cavaliers Live, presented by Liberty Ford, will feature highlights, player interviews and analysis.
Phelps will continue to host Cavaliers in the Paint, a show that provides the most up-to-date news and highlights surrounding the Cavs, premiering Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6:00pm. Phelps will be joined on the program by Sam Amico.
All Cavs games and programs televised on FOX Sports Ohio will also stream live on FOX Sports GO. FOX Sports GO is available to customers of participating pay-TV providers on iOS, Android, Fire tablets and Fire phones, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Roku, Windows devices, and online at FOXSportsGO.com.
