Freshman SS Pendley makes All-Pac-12 team
Arizona freshman shortstop Shelby Pendley was named first-team all-Pac-12 Conference, and teammated Brigette Del Ponte, Hallie Wilson and Lini Koria were named to the second team.
Pendley hit .346 and led Arizona with 18 home runs and 53 RBI with a slugging percentage of .730. Pendley is one of three freshman named to the 20-player first-team all-Pac-12.
Koria, a senior designated player, has 16 home runs and a .328 batting average; Del Ponte, a junior third baseman, has 14 home runs and 51 RBI; and Wilson, a freshman outfielder, is hitting .355 as Aizona's leadoff batter.
Senior Jessica Spigner earned honorable mention, and Wilson and Pendley were named to the all-freshman team.
Pac-12 champion California won three individual awards: Player of the year Valerie Arioto, pitcher of the year Jolene Henderson and coach of the year Diane Ninemire. UCLA’s Stephany LaRosa was selected as Freshman of the Year, and Stanford shortstop Ashley Hansen, a senior from Chandler, was defensive player of the year.
