FOX Sports Wisconsin Midweek Stock Report for Sept. 23

Every Wednesday, FOX Sports Wisconsin takes a look at which athletes' stock is trending up and whose is trending down.

In other words, who is making a meteoric rise, and who is quickly plummeting.

With that in mind, let's "take stock" of the current sports scene in Wisconsin, shall we?

Randall Cobb

The Packers' star receiver looked every bit the Pro Bowl talent he is in last Sunday night's 27-17 victory over defending NFC champion Seattle. The fifth-year pro reeled in a game-high eight receptions for 116 yards against Seattle, giving him 13 catches so far this season.

Wisconsin-Whitewater's offense

Simply put, the tradition-rich Warhawks picked apart their prey last Saturday, downing Finlandia by a resounding 66-3 margin. The Warhawks, ranked No. 1 in the NCAA's Division III ranks, were up 42-0 by midway through the second quarter. Whitewater (2-0) racked up 555 yards of total offense en route to an easy win over its guests from Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Ha-Ha Clinton Dix

The Packers' second-year free safety was no joke last Sunday night, getting in on a game-high nine tackles against the Seahawks, seven of which were solo stops. The 22-year-old Alabama product is starting to look like he could anchor Green Bay's secondary for years to come. Dix has a team-high 16 total tackles so far in 2015.

Hernan Perez

After a strong start to the month, the Brewers' third baseman has cooled of late. Over the past week, the 24-year-old has gone 3 for 15 (.200) at the plate. Perez has just one extra-base hit since Sept. 4.

Leon Jacobs

Jacobs, a junior linebacker for the Badgers, was ejected early in last Saturday's 28-3 win versus Troy for a hit on quarterback Brandon Silvers that was deemed targeting. Making matters worse for Jacobs was the fact his replacement, Chris Orr, went on to finish the day with 14 total tackles. Now, Jacobs has to hope he didn't get put into a Wally Pipp-type situation.

Luis Sardinas

The Brewers' 22-year-old shortstop is limping to the finish line this season, hitting just .125 in the month of September. The native Venezuelan has just two hits this month and, since Sept. 12, has gone 1 for 9 (.111).
