FOX Sports Southeast to televise 81 Hornets regular-season games in 2015-16
FOX Sports Southeast announced Tuesday it will televise 81 Charlotte Hornets games during the 2015-16 NBA season. Hornets regular season games on FOX Sports Southeast will reach more than 3.5 million households throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. FOX Sports Southeast was formerly known as SportSouth.
The Hornets will tip off the NBA regular season against the Miami Heat on Wednesday, October 28. Coverage on FOX Sports Southeast begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with a special one-hour edition of the Hornets LIVE! pregame show.
The network will also debut its new three-person telecast team for the upcoming season. Veteran broadcaster Eric Collins joins the FOX Sports Southeast team as the new play-by-play announcer. Collins' national broadcasting experience includes work on the FOX Television Network and FOX Sports 1 as a play-by-play announcer for college football, basketball and Major League Baseball. Also new this season, after 11 seasons as the sideline reporter and pre- and post-game host for Hornets telecasts on FOX Sports Southeast, Stephanie Ready will move to the broadcast booth where she will team up with former Hornets standout Dell Curry on game strategies and analysis. Ready is accustomed to pioneering roles for women in sports; she was an assistant coach in the WNBA and the NBA D-League, making her the first woman to coach a men's professional basketball team. Ready also was an assistant coach for the NCAA Division I men's basketball program basketball program at Coppin State University. Curry returns for his seventh season as Hornets telecast analyst on FOX Sports Southeast.
Hornets LIVE!, the pregame and postgame show for all 81 game telecasts, will be hosted by Collins, Ready and Curry.
Games will also be available on FOX Sports GO (FOXSportsGo.com), a free app that provides live streaming video of Charlotte Hornets games through select programming distributors, as well as other FOX Sports programming.
Other schedule highlights include:
• The Atlanta Hawks will visit Charlotte on Sunday, November 1, for the Hornets home opener, with pregame coverage starting at 1:30 p.m. ET.
• The Hornets will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers and four-time NBA MVP LeBron James on Friday, November 27, with pregame coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET in the first of four regular season meetings.
• The 2014-15 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors will visit the Hornets on Wednesday, December 2, with pregame coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.
