FOX Sports South debuts new state-of-the-art production center and studio
ATLANTA -- FOX Sports South, a FOX Sports regional network, unveiled its new state-of-the-art production studio, bringing the design and technology of a national network to the regional sports network level. The studio renovation, coupled with the company's long-term lease agreement at its Colony Square location in Midtown Atlanta, represents FOX Sports South's commitment to the viability and success of its Atlanta-based home.
"With the studio renovation, our intention was to create a sense of 'place' for the fan," said FOX Sports Media Group executive vice president and creative director Gary Hartley, who is responsible for designing the NFL on FOX studio set and the iconic FOX Sports robot, 'Cleatus'. "We hope they feel that this is their home -- for their teams -- and that the studio feels comfortable and approachable."
The 1,800 square foot studio is one of the most technologically advanced television studios in the country for a regional sports network, utilizing Viz Multiplay from Vizrt which provides the production team with a simple, flexible way to control content across multiple studio screens from a single interface.
"Our sets are definitely modern in aesthetic, but they have natural textures that offset the electronics and warm the tone overall," said Hartley. "We utilize monitors to help our production teams fluidly inject team branding into their programs as well as provide greater opportunities for our sponsors to organically connect to the content."
"FOX Sports' investment in network quality design and technology reflects our commitment to provide the highest quality viewing experience to our viewers and unparalleled presentation value to our regional team partners, sponsors and affiliated distributors" said FOX Sports South senior vice president and general manager Jeff Genthner.
The following shows currently originate from the FOX Sports South studio: ACC All-Access, ACC Gridiron LIVE!, Braves LIVE! pregame and postgame shows, Hawks LIVE! pregame and postgame shows, The New College Football Show and The New College Football Show: Next Class.
