FOX Sports Detroit takes home 10 Michigan EMMY's
FOX Sports Detroit was honored with 10 EMMY’s on Saturday night by the Michigan Chapter of National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, presented at the organization’s 35th annual ceremony at Motor City Casino’s Hotel’s Sound Board Theatre in Detroit.
The FOX Sports Detroit winning entries included another EMMY for “Station Excellence,” capturing that prestigious award for the fifth time in the past eight years. FOX Sports Detroit has received 100 EMMY’s overall since 2000, including 55 over the last five years.

Here are the EMMY-winning entries for FOX Sports Detroit, recognizing excellence in productions originating in 2012:
• Station Excellence: FOX Sports Detroit (Greg Hammaren)
FOX Sports Detroit is once again honored for excellence in overall station operations, including serving its viewer universe through local programming efforts.
• Sports – Program Feature/Segment: Their Place Forever (Michael Isenberg, Chad Schwartzenberger, Justin White)
An EMMY-winning segment honoring the death of a Marlette basketball player and his grandfather.
• Sports – Daily or Weekly Program: Spartan Basketball All Access: “Jenison Weekend”: (Jacob Huber)
The network was honored for its coverage of Michigan State Basketball returning to Jenison Field House for the first time since 1989.
• Sports – Program Series: Pistons Live Pregame Compilation (Brian Henry, Michael Isenberg, Craig Wilking)
An EMMY-winning compilation from the network’s show about the Detroit Pistons.
• Sporting Event/Game – Live/Unedited – Program/Special: Frozen Diamond Face-Off (Mark Iacofano, Chris Wasielewski)
The network was honored for its presentation of the first-ever outdoor college hockey game in the state of Ohio between Ohio State and Michigan at Progressive Field in Cleveland on Jan. 15, 2012.
• Sporting Event/Game – Live/Unedited – Program/Special: MHSAA High School Football Division 7 Final (Brady Clyma, Mark Iacofano, Brian J. Maas)
This EMMY is for the coverage of the Division 7 Final of the Michigan High School Athletic Association between Ishpeming and Detroit Loyola.
• Sporting Event/Game – Live/Unedited – Series: Tigers Baseball (Brady Clyma, Mark Iacofano, Brian J. Maas, Chris Wasielewski)
FOX Sports Detroit earned the EMMY for its presentation of MLB baseball featuring the Detroit Tigers.
• Documentary – Historical – Detroit Titan Court Report: Legends & Traditions (Oliver Thornton)
This program examines the history and tradition of the Detroit Titans.
• Director – Live or Live to Tape (Mark Iacofano)
An EMMY-winning compilation of Red Wings and Tigers from director Mark Iacofano.
• On-Camera Talent – Anchor – Sports: Compilation (Ryan Field)
This EMMY is for a compilation of studio and site anchoring by Ryan Field.
The Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (MI-NATAS) is the most recognized non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of excellence in television. The EMMY is a distinct honor awarded to TV professionals. Judges, representing EMMY selection committees, in other parts of the country, scored the Michigan nominations based on content, creativity and execution of work.
