FOX Sports Arizona to honor military with 'This One's For You' D-backs telecast on July 4

For the sixth consecutive season, FOX Sports Arizona will honor the United States military with its Fourth of July “This One’s For You, Presented by Sanderson Ford and Pepsi” telecast. This year, it takes place during the Arizona Diamondbacks-San Diego Padres game from Chase Field, and coverage begins on Wednesday, July 4, at 5:30 p.m. with a special one-hour edition of the Diamondbacks Live pre-game show.

“This One’s For You” was created to offer FOX Sports Arizona’s thanks to the brave men and women who serve and have served America in the military and to remind everyone about the sacrifices these heroes -- and their families -- are making for us all. The game will also be televised around the world on American Forces Network (AFN), allowing American service men and women, Department of Defense and other U.S. government civilians and their families stationed at bases overseas, as well as U.S. Navy ships at sea, the opportunity to watch.

There will be 70 Arizona National Guard soldiers and family of deployed soldiers at the game in a special section, courtesy of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who donated the tickets. Fatburger has also agreed to donate food for the families, and Pepsi will provide drinks for them during the game. During the day's coverage, these National Guard troops and their families will be involved in FOX Sports Arizona’s telecast, and the network will also showcase video messages from local guardsmen and women who were recently deployed.

FOX Sports Arizona is asking viewers to submit their messages of support for the troops that will be shown throughout the telecast. They can be sent via Twitter to @FOXSPORTSAZ with the hashtag #ThisOnesForYou or posted on FOX Sports Arizona’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/foxsportsarizona and www.FOXSportsArizona.com.

More than 9,300 Arizona Army and Air National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have answered the call and  been ordered to federal active duty in support of Operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn since September 11, 2001.

"This event is a telecast everyone at FOX Sports Arizona looks forward to each year,” said Brian Hogan, FOX Sports Arizona Senior Vice President and General Manager. “It’s our way of saying thanks to not only the men and women in the United States military who bravely serve our country, but to their families for all the sacrifices they make as well.”
