Forrest closes out the season

This is the last one my friends, and I'm sorry to say it but I have not prepared as my writing role model Hunter S. Thompson would have. I'm stone-cold sober, so this review will suck. Let's get to it anyway.

The fight this week is a women's fight so we are guaranteed two things we did not get with the men: one, both women will make weight; and two, it will be a good fight.

The fight this week is between Raquel Pennington and Jessica Rakoczy… let’s get cozy. These are two women that have shown excellent striking skills and tremendous tenacity. Oh and the ability to make weight.

Plus, Raquel is still pretty banged up from that 15-minute fight that actually looked like a fight. Oh and to make matters worse, she threw a dude on her hand. Her right hand, her power hand.

But wait it's okay, Jessica can't feel her right arm, also her power arm. As an aside you wonder what it was like with men and women approximately the same size trying to spar together. I'm reminded of the time we had a high school basketball practice with the boys against girls and I dominated by jumping on top of, knocking over and charging girls. I had to be pulled aside and told to be nice and quit boxing out. We never had a practice like that again.

Jessica makes a very veteran observation about her game face and stayed focus. In the confessionals everyone tells us that Jessica is very small. Oh and then Jessica tells us "tears mean nothing"... I might have to use that.

Sorry I just processed that Raquel broke her back snowboarding. Which should tell everyone that fighting is safe compared to snowboarding.

I think this is gonna be a good fight--if it's not I’ll give you your money back.

The round starts slow but we do see a great display of footwork by both fighters. Followed by some takedowns and good striking from not great positions.

Tate gives Raquel some seemingly odd but good advice in, to turn this fight into a fight. Because Raquel the brawler and bigger of the two is getting out jabbed by Jessica, the pro boxer.

Someone over in Raquel’s corner said that they needed to know if you want to fight. I assumed you do, but just to be sure somebody over there wanted to know.

Raquel aka “Rocky” (very good nickname for someone named Raquel) is the bigger fighter but it is becoming apparent that Jessica is the quicker of the two. Toward the end of the fight you can see Jessica's confidence grow as Raquel's wanes.

Dana and everybody who built this amazing new bandwagon called “The Raquel” did nothing. Well I call “El Bullsh*t”--nothing happened to Raquel’s head as far as psychological issues. What happened is she fought a quicker fighter she was not able to hit.

When Raquel attacked first, she missed and when she did land a punch Jessica did a good job of cutting her off; as in hitting Raquel in the middle of her combinations.

The next piece to the puzzle (I too hate when people say that) was Raquel’s inability to take Jessica down. When Raquel did get Jessica down she received a constant barrage of elbows. That's what happened. The end. There is more show but they gave me what I want (the fight in this case) so I'm out and no I will not be calling... Peace.

To the women's final: Jessica will fight Giuliana? With a J sorry. Tough fight because Jessica could fight at 125lbs while Julianna is a big 135er. Again speed vs. strength and youth vs. experience.
