Former UF, NFL QB accused in brutal attack

Former NFL and University of Florida quarterback Doug Johnson has been named as one of three accused that left a man with a broken nose and facial fractures following a Gators game against LSU on Oct. 6, according to a report in the Gainesville Sun.

The sworn complaint, filed by Joe Cappelletti in November, alleges Johnson of felony battery, though no formal charges have yet been filed.

As The Sun reports:

Michael Finesilver, the attorney for Johnson, 35, and the two others — Andrew Greer, 39, of Gainesville, and Megan Cranston, 35, of Jacksonville — named in the complaint, told the Sun tat Johnson was knocked unconscious during the attack and his group was acting in self defense.

Johnson went undrafted after graduating from Florida in 2000, but spent parts of seven seasons with Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Cleveland and Cincinnati.
