Flyers picked to finish third in A-10
A panel of Atlantic 10 media and coaches chose Dayton to finish third in the league standings this season.
Two Flyers who were a major part of the program's first Elite Eight appearance in 30 years received preseason all-conference recognition with guard Jordan Sibert tapped for the first team and forward Dyshawn Pierre picked for the second team.
In his first season eligible after transferring from Ohio State, Sibert was UD's leading scorer last season at 12.2 points per game. He was third in the A-10 in three-point percentage (42.6) and third in the league with 83 made three-pointers. Pierre averaged 11.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season.
Dayton went 26-10 last season with a 10-6 mark in league play that tied UMass for fifth place.
All 28 panel members chose VCU -- last year's regular-season runner-up -- to win the league while George Washington was picked second.
Defending champion Saint Louis was tabbed ninth.
