Five thoughts on Cowboys' win over Bucs

ARLINGTON, Texas – With a 16-10 victory Sunday at Cowboys Stadium, Dallas earned Jerry Jones his 200th regular season win since he purchased the franchise in 1989.
Here are my thoughts on the Cowboys' second win of the season.
1.) There's no way the Cowboys could follow a horrendous start in Seattle with anything but sound play in their home opener, right? Not quite. Dallas started with the ball, Jason Witten dropped a pass on second down and Tony Romo threw an interception on the next play. Tampa Bay then went on its only touchdown drive of the game, which was aided by multiple defensive penalties. Why can't this team get it going early? Jason Garrett probably needs to go in a different direction with his pregame speech.
2.) It was no secret entering the season that the offensive line was going to be one of the Cowboys' weaknesses. Outside of left tackle Tyron Smith, there are no other standouts in the group. It's amazing that Romo was able to finish the game after some of the hits he took. When he wasn't being pressured, the front-five was being called for holdings and false starts. There was also little running room for DeMarco Murray, who finished with 38 yards on 18 carries. This o-line appears to be getting worse.
3.) Has Father Time caught up with Jason Witten? After having arguably his worst game last Sunday, the 30-year-old tight end had several drops again against the Buccaneers. Jerry Jones said before the game that Witten, who suffered a lacerated spleen during the preseason, is 100 percent. If he's not injured, maybe a decade in the NFL is to blame. Witten finished with two catches for eight yards and was targeted six times.
4.) The game ball goes to Brandon Carr. The $50 million free agent was everywhere Sunday. He played corner on Vincent Jackson and safety when Barry Church exited. With the help of Mike Jenkins, Carr held the Tampa Bay star receiver to one catch. Through three games, it certainly seems like Carr was worth the money.
5.) How should Cowboys fans feel about this win? It was the home opener against a team that gave up over 600 yards of offense and 41 points to the Giants last week. Of course, a win is a win in the NFL, but the Cowboys looked average against Tampa Bay. Unless there are some significant improvements in "all three phases," as Garrett would say, this looks like a .500 ballclub.
