Fastest OSU student to race fastest Buckeye football player

Urban Meyer has made a point to make students feel like part of the Ohio State football program since he became head coach, and the latest attempt will involve a trait he covets on the recruiting trail: speed.

Meyer announced via Twitter on Wednesday that Ohio State is holding a competition to find the fastest student on campus, and that person will get to race the fastest player on the football team at halftime of the spring game April 12.

Click here for full details, but here is the skinny: Students who are interested need to show up at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on March 26 at 5 p.m. to learn more and go through "preliminary rounds of testing."

At that time, competitors will be selected for a series of semifinal races during the student appreciation practice the morning of April 5. That winner will take the field a week later at Ohio Stadium for the final against a current Buckeye.

Last year at the student appreciation practice, Ohio State held a place-kicking competition for students.
