Falcons RB Coleman ruled out vs. Packers

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Falcons running back Tevin Coleman has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Packers with a hamstring injury.

Coach Dan Quinn said Friday that Terron Ward, promoted earlier this week from the practice squad, will work behind Pro Bowl running back Devonta Freeman.

Freeman and Coleman are the only running backs to take a snap this year for Atlanta. They have combined for 1,241 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns on 205 touches.

Freeman has been a full participant in practice the last two days despite a sore hip. Coleman didn't practice this week after getting hurt in last week's overtime loss to San Diego.

Quinn said the status of defensive end Dwight Freeney will be a game-time decision. The 15th-year veteran has a sore quadriceps. Freeney has three sacks, second on the team to Vic Beasley with 6.5.

Atlanta (4-3) has dropped two straight. Green Bay (4-2) has won three of four overall and four straight in the series.
