Early game times mean Stoops and friends aren't late for dinner

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops let it be known he wasn't a fan of early kickoffs.

In fact, Stoops said he was going to check with the Big 12 office to make sure each of the schools was getting an appropriate number of day games and night games.

But Stoops did say there was an element to the early games that seemingly helps.

Recruiting.

"Last week it didn't," Stoops said on whether the early game time against Tulsa mattered for the number of recruits who were in town. "They were all here, enjoyed the game and all went to my house for a recruiting dinner afterward. You can't come to my house and have a reciting dinner at 2 in the morning when you play a night game. So hopefully they liked being over at my house. It seemed to be positive."

OU will play against West Virginia at 11 a.m. Saturday and will also play Texas in Dallas at 11 a.m.

It's the seventh time in the past two seasons that OU has played a game that kicked off before noon.
