Dwight Howard recreates '300' speech
After a season riddled with injuries, drama and more injuries, it all came down to one game.
Prior to the Lakers' regular-season finale against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, Dwight Howard offered media members a sneak peak of his motivational speech, snapping into character as a warrior from the movie "300."
“Kobe is watching us at home,” he said. “Dr. Buss is watching us up high! Let’s let it out tonight! Everything we got! Everything! Leave it on the floor! Pau (Gasol), put your big boy pants on! Dwight, hit your free throws! Jodie (Meeks), hit those threes boy! Now let’s get it! Now let’s bring it in! Hoorah!”
It was a rare glimpse at the jokester side of Howard, who has spent nearly all of this past season defending himself and his underacheiving teammates.
Prior to tipoff, Lakers secured the final playoff spot in the West when Utah lost to Memphis, and their overtime win over the Rockets secured the No. 7 seed and a first-round matchup against the Spurs.
