Drexel rugby team twerks in Daisy Dukes to raise $60K for charity

The Drexel University men's rugby team will twerk for ... charity?

That's exactly what it did, too.

Members of the team recently helped raise over $60,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research -- for shaking their butts in Daisy Dukes.

The video came about when Drexel student Max Kiplinger asked his fellow rugby buddies to help him with the talent portion of Deepher Dude, an annual male beauty pageant put on by sorority Delta Phi Epsilon to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Kiplinger's teammates gladly obliged, thus making for one of the most interesting entries in the pageant.

An error occurred while retrieving the Instagram post. It might have been deleted.

Kiplinger's message on his donation page for the pageant says he hopes the video will help raise awareness for the disease.

"It's an opportunity for me to rally my community -- my friends, family, and classmates -- in support of those who are suffering form cystic fibrosis and those are searching every day for a cure."

So was the beefcake boogie enough to help Kiplinger win the pageant?

Congratulations to our teammate Max Kiplinger on finishing 3rd at Deepher Dude. This is another victory for the club....

Unfortunately, no -- he finished in third place. But the rugby team called his efforts a "victory for the club" regardless.
