Dolphins sign veteran quarterback Brady Quinn

The Miami Dolphins signed quarterback Brady Quinn on Monday, FOX Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo has confirmed.

The news comes several hours after a tryout session held at the conclusion of practice along with fellow veterans Rex Grossman and John Skelton that was attended by head coach Joe Philbin, offensive coordinator Bill Lazor and other team officials.

Quinn, 29, was a first-round draft choice by the Cleveland Browns in the 2007 NFL Draft and played three seasons with them before moving on to stints with several teams, most recently with the St. Louis Rams last year. He had signed with FOX Sports as a college and NFL football analyst earlier this summer.

The Dolphins have been searching for more quarterback depth with injuries to backups Matt Moore and Pat Devlin hampering the team in training camp and in their preseason game versus the Atlanta Falcons.

Undrafted rookie quarterback Seth Lobato, who played the majority of the game against the Falcons, and Devlin did not take any snaps at Monday's practice. The Dolphins also cut Brock Jensen on Sunday.

Coach Philbin declined after Monday's practice to discuss the team's search for a veteran quarterback.

"We've had workouts almost every single day and it's no different," he said. "We're always evaluating different people that are out there. So really, no different than any other position. We've brought in people at virtually every position."
