Do USC, UCLA have edge recruiting Shaq's 16-year-old son?
Shaquille O'Neal's son Shareef is shaping up as a real baller, making moves his 7-foot-1 dad never dreamed of doing.
Shareef is a 6-foot-8, 190-pound sophomore at Windward High in LA, and he already has scholarship offers from several schools including USC, UCLA and LSU. Shareef said his dad told him he doesn't have to follow in his footsteps and go to LSU, and TMZ reports that the boy's mom, Shaunie, would like him to stay close to home, giving an immediate edge to Pac-12 powers USC and UCLA.
We'll see what happens. Shareef is definitely living a different life than his dad did at his age — he just got a Lambo and a Jeep for his 16th birthday. Who knows? Shareef might even do like Snoop's son and give up sports to design men's underwear.
