Dirk Nowitzki pens letter to the fans in Dallas Morning News

On Sunday, Dirk Nowitzki published a letter to Dallas Mavericks fans, thanking them for their years of support and again, reaffirming that his retirement is not a "goodbye" to the city that has stood by his side for the last twenty-one years.

"This is not a goodbye," Nowitzki wrote. "I will miss playing, but I can't wait to start the next chapter with you."
