Did Arrieta seal the deal in NL Cy Young Race Sunday night?

Early in the season, the Cy Young race in the National League looked like Greinke and Scherzer and Bumgarner.

Then it looked like Greinke.

Then it looked like Greinke and Kershaw and Arrieta.

Now it looks like ... maybe just Arrieta?

Just goes to show you how objective Kasper is. Sunday night, I was listening to Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer on the radio, and to hear them tell it, Jake Arrieta's the greatest pitcher not just this season, but maybe ever. With Lee Smith a solid No. 2, and everybody else tied for one millionth.

I don't think this will be all that close, though. Kershaw's still the most talented pitcher and Greinke's probably going to finish with the lowest ERA. But Arrieta's sub-2.00 ERA, his 21 (or 22) wins, and his phenomenal second half for a team having a phenomenal second half will, I suspect, mean he gets at least half the first-place Cy Young votes.

Which wouldn't bother me at all, even while I can see fine cases for the other guys, too.
