DeAndre Jordan officially accepts Team USA invitation to Rio 2016

It's official, DeAndre Jordan is headed to Rio this summer. The LA Clippers center accepted Team USA's invitation to defend gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

Named to the All-NBA First Team in 2016, Jordan averaged 12.7 points and 13.8 rebounds per game while shooting a staggering 70.3 percent from the floor. Jordan joins a team that boasts Golden State's Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes, Kyrie Irving of the Cavaliers, Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony.

Team USA took home gold medals at past two Olympics in London and Beijing.

Jordan and his teammates will warm up for the games with a showcase at Staples Center on July 24 against ChinaTheir first game at Rio 2016 will be Aug. 6, coincidentally, against China as well
