Darvish a finalist for AL Cy Young Award
Texas Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish was tabbed as one of three finalists for the American League Cy Young Award Tuesday.
Detroit's Max Scherzer and Seattle's Hisashi Iwakuma are the other two finalists for the award, which will be announced Nov. 13.
By being in the top three, Darvish will become just the second pitcher in club history to finish in the top three in the voting. Hall of Famer Ferguson Jenkins finished second in the 1974 voting.
Darvish went 13-9 with a 2.83 in his second season with the Rangers. He led the majors with 277 strikeouts and 11.32 strikeouts per nine innings.
