D-backs to open 2016 at home vs. Rockies; Yankees to visit in May

PHOENIX -- The New York Yankees will return to Chase Field for a three-game series in May as part of the Arizona Diamondbacks' 2016 schedule.

The Diamondbacks revealed the 2016 schedule on Tuesday. They will open the season at home against the Colorado Rockies on April 4 at 6:40 p.m., and will also conclude the season at home with a three-game series against the San Diego Padres, Sept. 30 through Oct. 2.

In addition to the Yankees, other American League teams to play at Chase Field will be the Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays.

This will be the Yankees' third regular-season visit to Chase Field. They most recently played in Phoenix in 2010, winning two of three games. All-time the Diamondbacks are 4-11 vs. the Yankees in the regular sason and 4-3 in postseason.

The D-backs will play interleague series on the road at Houston, Toronto, Boston and Baltimore.

The Diamondbacks have played in Toronto only once before in franchise history -- winning 2 of 3 games in 2004. The Blue Jays have played three series in Phoenix, most recently in 2013. Tampa Bay has played in Phoenix in 2004, 2007 and 2013.

The schedule also features home games on Memorial Day (May 30 vs. Houston) and the Fourth of July (vs. San Diego).
