D-backs announce sellout for Opening Day vs. Giants
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that Sunday's Opening Day game vs. the San Francisco Giants at Chase Field is officially sold out. The game will be televised on FOX Sports Arizona, starting with a special one-hour Diamondbacks Live pre-game show -- featuring Todd Walsh, Jody Jackson and analysts Mark Grace and Brandon Webb -- at noon.
Fans attending the game are encouraged to arrive early and take advantage of the D-backs Fiesta on the streets in front of Chase Field. The fiesta starts at 10 a.m. and will include a beer garden, live music, food trucks and family entertainment.
Gates to Chase Field open at 10:45 a.m., and Opening Day ceremonies begin at 12:30 p.m. The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by former Phoenix Suns star Grant Hill. The National Anthem will be performed by the most recent winner of American Idol, Trent Harmon. At the conclusion of the anthem, four F-16s from the 390th Wild Ducks Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base will do a flyover above Chase Field and the 300-by-150-foot American flag in center field.
The roof will remain open for the game, so fans are encouraged to dress accordingly and wear sunscreen and a cap.
The first 40,000 fans will receive a D-backs Giveback t-shirt, commemorating the $50 million milestone in charitable giving that was reached at Wednesday night's Evening on the Diamond.
Tickets remain available for the remainder of the seven-game season-opening homestand, which includes three more games against the Giants and three vs. the AL champion Cleveland Indians, April 7-9. The first 20,000 fans attending Saturday, April 8, will receive a Jake Lamb bobblehead.
