Coyotes send Ekman-Larsson back to San Antonio

The Phoenix Coyotes announced Wednesday that rookie defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson has been assigned to the San Antonio Rampage, the team's American Hockey League affiliate.

The 6-foot-2, 190 pound Ekman-Larsson has played 15 games with the Coyotes this season, collecting four assists and 12 penalty minutes. Ekman-Larsson also has played four games with the Rampage, registering two assists and four penalty minutes.

The 19-year-old native of Karlskrona, Sweden was drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (sixth overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
