Cowboys add DT Jerome Long to 90-man roster
The Dallas Cowboys added a defensive tackle to their 90-man roster on Monday. According to DallasCowboys.com, Jerome Long, a seventh-round draft pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012, takes the open spot that was created when the Cowboys released defensive end Anthony Hargrove on Thursday.
Long was signed off the Chiefs' practice squad by the Jacksonville Jaguars in December. The 23-year-old was then waived in April. During his senior year at San Diego State, Long totaled 73 tackles and five sacks.
Long, who attended the Cowboys' rookie minicamp in May, is a long shot to make the team's 53-man roster. The Cowboys will probably only keep eight or nine defensive linemen and Long becomes the 13th defensive linemen on the current roster.
