Comment of the Day comes from user 'Nana'

We recently featured a story written by Kevin Goheen about Andrew Donnellon, an 18-year-old freshman kicker on the Bluffton University football team who was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a rare congenital heart defect.

Through Kevin's story, we learned about a special young man who has gone from a 50-50 chance of surviving his first week of
life to playing college football.

The story received a lot of great feedback, but this comment from user 'Nana' stood out the most:

My grandson is 7 months old and has the same
diagnosis. He also has
Heterotaxy and doesn't have a spleen. We were given the same prognosis
at birth. He has had bowel surgery at 6 weeks old and has had his first
open heart in September. He was able to skip the first surgery at birth
and actually was able to skip the first procedure altogether, which we
feel extremely blessed. Good luck to you Andrew, your story has given
our family hope for the future. May God bless you and Jesus watch over
you.

Thank you for sharing your comment with us, Nana. It's always a great feeling any time we can provide inspiration and hope to our readers. We wish you and your family all the best!
