Close call for survivor of '07 crash
A man who survived a bus crash that killed five of his Ohio college baseball teammates and two others has just lived through another wreck, involving a cycling team.
Allen Slabaugh was among eight people in a van that blew out a tire and flipped over this week in Idaho. Slabaugh and the others were headed to Seattle to start a 3,600-mile bike ride to Washington, D.C., to raise money for the Georgia-based Fuller Center for Housing.
The Fuller Center said no one was hurt seriously in Tuesday's accident.
Slabaugh said that when the van started rolling over, it felt very similar to the Bluffton University bus crash in 2007. A bus carrying baseball players from the northwest Ohio school plunged off an Atlanta highway overpass.
