Clippers lose pair of All-Stars for remainder of NBA Playoffs

These NBA Playoffs have not been kind to star players.

In some sort of cruel game of injury dominoes, the LA Clippers lost Chris Paul and then Blake Griffin during a Game 4 loss in Portland. On Tuesday, the team announced that both Paul and Griffin would miss the rest of the postseason due to injuries sustained in Game 4.

When Paul left Monday's game visibly upset following treatment on the bench for what looked to be a hurt hand or wrist, it was apparent things were bad. Before the final whistle, it was learned Paul sustained a fractured right hand and would not return. And to make matters worse, as that news on Paul was coming out, Griffin was seen holding the area surrounding his previously injured left quad with a look of discomfort. 

Following the team's Game 4 loss, much of the talk surrounded the health of the team's two best players and if they would play in any of the remaining games with the series tied 2-2. On Tuesday, the team reported Paul had undergone surgery on his broken right hand and Griffin had in fact re-injured the same left quad that kept him out for 41 games earlier this season. 

The Clippers will not have to win two of the next three in order advance but they'll do so without their top scoring duo. Game 5 is Wednesday in LA, coverage starts at 7p on PrimeTicket.
