Chili Bowl Nationals 50/50 raffle raises over $32K for Kevin Swindell
When Kevin Swindell sustained serious injuries in August during the Knoxville Nationals sprint car event, his racing career was put on hold. A four-time winner of the Chili Bowl Nationals, Swindell was forced to sit out this year's events as his recovery continued.
While he was not able to compete, the 26-year-old was on hand for the week-long event, serving as a car owner.
On Saturday, the final day of the prestigious event, the 50/50 raffle went toward the Kevin Swindell Recovery Fund. With a large crowd on hand at the Tulsa Expo Raceway and the news spreading on social media, it did not take long for the total dollar amount to rise to five figures.
By the time the raffle came to a close, the efforts had raised a total of $65,539, with $32,769.50 going toward Swindell's recovery fund.
Well done, Chili Bowl fans. Well done.
