Cards eyeing a return to top of NL Central

While the Milwaukee Brewers appear to be 2011's The New Kids on the Block in the National League Central due to a major overhaul of their roster, the St. Louis Cardinals are like the old folks in the neighborhood who never leave.

During the past 11 seasons, the Cardinals have won the division six times with two seconds, two thirds and a fourth.

Truly, the National Central travels through the Gateway Arch.

The Reds and Cardinals were dueling banjos for most of 2010, a short reach within each other, until September, when the injury-strewn Cardinals ran out of breath and the Reds steadily pulled away like an Ethiopian marathon runner.
