Cardinals reinstate Pham from DL, send him to Memphis

ST. LOUIS -- Outfielder Tommy Pham's recovery from a left oblique strain took another step forward Tuesday, though he won't be back in St. Louis right away.

The St. Louis Cardinals reinstated Pham from the 15-day disabled list and then optioned him to Triple A Memphis.

Pham, 28, was injured in his first at-bat on Opening Day and placed on the DL. He batted .281 (9 for 32) with a home run and five RBIs in a 10-game injury rehabilitation assignment split between Memphis (six games) and Double A Springfield (four games).
