Cardinals option Lyons to make room for Lynn on 25-man roster

The Cardinals have activated right-handed pitcher Lance Lynn (right forearm strain) from the 15-day disabled list and optioned lefty Tyler Lyons to Triple A Memphis.

Lynn, who is scheduled to start Thursday night's series finale in Miami, is 4-4 with a 3.07 ERA in 12 games started this season. His last outing came on June 7 at Los Angeles in a 4-2 win. 

Lyons, 27, made two starts for the Cardinals while Lynn was on the disabled list and provided wins on both June 13 vs. Kansas City and June 19 at Philadelphia.
