Cardinals OLB Schofield done for season

Cardinals outside linebacker O'Brien Schofield tweeted Monday night that he will miss the remainder of the season.

Schofield, a starter who is second on the team with 3.5 sacks and fourth on the team with 34 tackles, injured his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Packers in Green Bay. He was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday, and while the Cardinals did not release results, Schofield's tweet indicated that the results weren't promising.

The Cardinals' depth chart lists veteran Jamaal Westerman as Schofield's backup, but Westerman has just one tackle this season in limited playing time. Veteran Quentin Groves, who has 17 tackles and two sacks this year while playing primarily behind Sam Acho at the other outside linebacker spot, is more likely to move into the lineup.

A fourth-round pick in 2010, Schofield missed the start of his rookie year while rehabbing from a torn ACL. In his two-plus seasons, he has accumulated 83 tackles and 10.5 sacks.
