Bynum says he'll play Friday when Cavs hit Philadelphia

Cavaliers center Andrew Bynum isn’t afraid of those Philly fanatics.

That much became clear Wednesday, when Bynum told reporters in Milwaukee he plans to play in the Cavs’ game Friday at Philadelphia.

Bynum missed all of last season with the 76ers (his only season with the team) with lingering knee issues. He signed a free-agent deal with the Cavs over the summer.

He has played in three of the first four games with the Cavs, and is considered a game-time decision vs. the Bucks.

The Cavs play a back-to-back against the Sixers this weekend -- Friday at Philadelphia and Saturday at Cleveland. Most folks figured the Cavs would hold Bynum out for the away game, if for no other reason than to keep him from hearing the outpouring of boos.

Bynum squashed that idea Wednesday. Instead, he'll sit out Saturday's game in Cleveland, he said.

“Just another game,” was how Bynum described Friday's affair.

Nor was Bynum apologetic about how things unfolded after he was traded to the Sixers in the summer of 2012.

"It wasn’t my choice to get rid of me. I don’t feel bad at all,” he told reporters in Milwaukee. “If I was not hurt, I would’ve played. That’s really the end to that story.”

League sources have told FOX Sports Ohio some of Bynum’s issues in Philadelphia weren’t entirely his fault. The Sixers were aggravated with Bynum from the beginning and played a role in the parties keeping their distance, sources said.

Of Bynum's decision to play, one NBA insider told FOX Sports Ohio, "So what? (The fans) will boo him. No big deal for him, I'm sure."
