Buxton continues hot hitting as Twins top Red Sox 9-5

Byron Buxton hit his fourth home run of the spring and Brian Navarreto added a three-run shot as the Minnesota Twins topped the Boston Red Sox 9-5 on Wednesday at JetBlue Park.



Buxton also doubled in going 2 for 3 to raise his batting average to .400. He also scored a run and drove in one, his 12th RBI of the spring. Navarreto, who entered the game for Mitch Garver after he was hit by a pitch, keyed a four-run sixth inning with his blast, helping Minnesota break a 2-all tie.

C.J. Cron was 2 for 4 with two doubles and Eddie Rosario drove in two runs, giving him 10 RBI.

Adam Rosales finished off the scoring for the Twins with a two-run homer -- his fourth of the spring, trying Buxton for the team lead -- in the ninth inning.

Jose Berrios started for the Twins and allowed two runs on four hits in 3 1/3 innings. Blake Parker and Mike Morin each threw a perfect inning, striking out two.
