Burnes’ solid outing leads Brewers to 1-0 win

Corbin Burnes held Colorado scoreless through three innings, and Milwaukee edged the Rockies 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Burnes yielded three hits – two in the first inning – but whiffed four hitters, including Ian Desmond in the opening frame to end the Rockies’ threat.

The Brewers scored the lone run of the game off a Tyler Salandino double in the seventh inning that brought in Jake Hager.

Jesus Aguilar went 2 for 3 in the win. Christian Yelich went 1 for 3 and fanned once.

Colorado put two men on base with one out in the ninth, but Milwaukee’s Miguel Sanchez, a non-roster invitee, slammed the door and forced Yonathan Daza to ground into a double play.

Brewers reliever Taylor Williams picked up his first win of spring training.
