Bucs sign CB Sterling Moore to one-year deal

TAMPA, Fla. -- More defensive help is on the way for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who signed free agent cornerback Sterling Moore to a one-year deal Thursday.

Moore, 25, has 79 tackles, 19 passes defensed, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and three interceptions returned for 47 yards and one touchdown in 40 regular-season games during stops with the New England Patriots (2011-12) and Dallas Cowboys (2012-14). In five playoff games, he has 10 tackles and six passes defensed.

Last year, he had 46 tackles, 13 passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 16 regular-season games.

The native of Antioch, California, who stands at 5-foot-10, 202 pounds, is a Southern Methodist product who entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2011. He becomes the Bucs' fourth addition of this free-agency period, following linebacker Bruce Carter, defensive tackle Henry Melton and safety Chris Conte.
