Bucks sign free-agent forward Chris Copeland

The Bucks have signed Chris Copeland, confirming recent rumors the free-agent forward was headed to Milwaukee.

The team announced the move Wednesday. As per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Copeland, 31 but only entering his fourth NBA season, played the last two years for the Indiana Pacers, but it was a disappointing tenure. In 2013-14, he didn't play much, averaging 3.7 points in 6.5 minutes per game, while in 2014-15, he averaged 16.6 minutes and started 12 games but didn't shoot well (36.1 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from 3-point range). For the season, he averaged 6.2 points and a career-high 2.2 rebounds in 50 games.

Last year, in a Nov. 1 game against the Atlanta Hawks, Copeland scored 21 points and made six 3-pointers. Three days later, against the Bucks, he had 19 points and was 4 of 9 on 3-pointers.

Undrafted out of Colorado in 2006, Copeland (6-foot-8, 230 pounds) spent six years bouncing between the NBA D-League and professional teams overseas. In 2012-13, his first NBA season with the New York Knicks, he made 42.1 percent of his 3s, which was first among rookies and 13th among all players.
