Buckeyes talk beating Illinois, look ahead to Spartans

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State routed Illinois 55-14 on Saturday night for the Buckeyes' 20th consecutive Big Ten regular season victory.

As much or more of the talk after the game was about something other than the thrashing of the Fighting Illini, though. Yes, a major topic of conversation was Michigan State, the Buckeyes' opponent next Saturday night in East Lansing. MSU was ranked No. 8 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings while Ohio State came in 16th.

Head coach Urban Meyer, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Tom Herman and quarterback J.T. Barrett all talked about how the offense bounced back from a subpar performance at Penn State, how much they have thought about the Spartans prior to this point, how Barrett dealt with a sprained knee and more.
