Bryant confident Murray will showcase playmaking ability

IRVING, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys wanted to establish their running game last Sunday against St. Louis and Dez Bryant was just fine with that.

A week after getting 13 targets in Kansas City, Bryant was only targeted six times against the Rams, the fewest number of throws in his direction since playing in Cincinnati on Dec. 9.

Despite the reduced number of targets, Bryant genuinely seemed to be enjoying DeMarco Murray's big day on the ground. After several of Murray's big runs in the first half, Bryant could be seen pumping his fists in celebration.

"This is a team sport. Just to see DeMarco carry the rock the way he carried it, it's always nice seeing that," Bryant said Thursday. "DeMarco's always been a playmaker since his OU days, and that's what he looked like. I'm pretty sure that's what he's going to be looking like from here on out."

Murray finished with 175 yards and a touchdown on a career-high 26 carries. Sunday marked the fifth time Murray has rushed for at least 100 yards in 26 career games.

"I feel like we do have the right group of guys to keep each other up," Bryant said, "and we want to see each other do good and make plays and win ballgames."
