Bruce scores fan new truck with home run
While the Reds didn't get the victory Thursday night, one lucky fan had himself a memorable night.
Thanks to Jay Bruce's 26th home run of the season in the eighth inning, Rafael Gonzalez, whose name was drawn before the game, earned a new Toyota Tundra truck.
For someone to win the grand prize, a player on the Reds had to hit a home run into the designated Target Area located in the Sun Deck/Moon Deck seats or visitors bullpen in right field. The promotion began Thursday and would have run through next Wednesday had a Reds player not jacked one to the specific location.
When asked about the truck winner after the game, Bruce said: "That's pretty cool. Hopefully, he can use it."
Bruce currently sits at eighth on the Reds' all-time home run list, two behind Ken Griffey Jr.
