Browns rumblings

Head coaching search:

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network has had a couple of reports this morning concerning the Cleveland Browns head-coaching job.

Adam Gase choosing to stay with the Broncos would really be a shock to no one. He is in a great position with Peyton Manning as his quarterback and may wait another year before trying his hand at head coaching.

But, Rapoport also reported, that Peyton Manning, who knows Jimmy Haslam from his Tennessee days, has vouched for Haslam to Gase.

A potential second interview with Dan Quinn, defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, could indicate that he is the top candidate for the position at this point.

In the end, both playoff games today will have a big impact on how quickly the Browns find their new head coach.

Also, Chris Mortenson of ESPN is reporting that Mike Pettine is expected to have a second interview with the Browns.

Davone Bess:

The Miami Herald is reporting that the Dolphins knew of Davone Bess's issues when they were trying to trade him and they took a "don't-ask-don't-tell" approach while shopping him.

Also, the report says the Dolphins did not disclose the information on Bess to the Browns, but did tell them to "do their homework".

Although the Browns may have known about the incident from their own investigating, it still does not shine good light on the Dolphins organization as a trustworthy business partner in the future.
