Browns place Desmond Bryant on IR with irregular heartbeat

BEREA, Ohio --
The Cleveland Browns on Wednesday promoted WR Brian Tyms to the active roster from the practice squad. In addition, the team placed DL Desmond Bryant on reserve/non-football illness with an irregular heartbeat.
Tyms is 6-3, 204 pounds and officially in his first NFL season out of Florida A&M. He was initially signed by the Browns off the Dolphins’ practice squad on Oct. 22 and appeared in three games before spending last week on the practice squad. Originally signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2012, Tyms spent all of 2012 on the Dolphins’ practice squad.
He played two seasons at Florida A&M, where he registered 45 receptions for 661 yards and four touchdowns, after spending two years at Tallahassee Community College. Tyms is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he attended Dillard High School.
Tyms wears No. 85.
Bryant has started all 12 games and registered 45 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
