Browns activate Nick McDonald
BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Saturday activated OL Nick McDonald to the active roster from reserve/non-football injury. General Manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.
To make room on the roster, the team waived TE Gerell Robinson.
McDonald, who was placed on NFI with a wrist injury on Aug. 26, joined the Browns via waivers from San Diego on July 22.
He is a 6-4, 306-pound veteran in his third NFL season out of Grand Valley State. Originally signed by Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2010, McDonald has appeared in 16 games with three starts. He has seen action at right guard, left guard and center. He saw his most extensive NFL action in 2012, when he appeared in 12 games with one start with the Patriots.
McDonald appeared in 44 games with 29 starts at Grand Valley State, leading the Lakers to the Division III National Championship game as a senior in 2009. A native of Sterling Heights, Mich., McDonald graduated from Henry Ford High School.
McDonald (wrist) is probable for tomorrow's game against Oakland.
Robinson was active but did not play in one game and was inactive for three more.
