Broncos' Ward, Williams expected to be out vs Chargers
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- The Denver Broncos are bracing for extended absences from safety T.J. Ward and run-stuffer Sylvester Williams, who went for MRIs Monday on high ankle sprains.
Ward and Williams hurt their left and right ankles, respectively, on a 2-yard carry by LeGarrette Blount in the first quarter of Denver's 30-24 win over New England.
Coach Gary Kubiak said Monday "it's going to take some work to get them back," along with guard Louis Vasquez (groin).
Peyton Manning could get his walking boot removed from his left foot soon but he's expected to be out until mid-December at least.
The Broncos (9-2) are hopeful they can get back edge rusher DeMarcus Ware (back) from a three-game absence when they play at San Diego next Sunday.
