Brewers' top prospect Arcia to debut, play shortstop on Tuesday
The Milwaukee Brewers' top prospect, Orlando Arcia, will make his major-league debut on Tuesday.
Arcia, 21, is the 13th best prospect on MLB.com's top-100 list. The 6-foot, 165-pound shortstop is batting .268 with 19 doubles, six triples, eight home runs and 53 RBI in 99 games (403 at-bats) this season for Triple-A Colorado Springs.
A career .282 hitter in the minor leagues, Arcia batted .307 in 512 at-bats last year for Double-A Biloixi, stealing 25 bases. The Brewers signed the Venezuela native as a non-drafted free agent in October 2010.
Arcia will start at shortstop on Tuesday, the team said, and Jonathan Villar will play third base.
