Brewers' Thames out 6-8 weeks after undergoing thumb surgery

The Milwaukee Brewers will be without their first baseman Eric Thames for six to eight weeks, as the team announced he underwent successful surgery on his injured left thumb Friday afternoon.

That slots his return to the Brewers sometime in the month of June.

Through 22 games this season, Thames mashed seven homers and tallied 13 RBI along with a .250/.351/.625 slash line.
